Pete Shields has installed a vertical garden at Leighton Contractors in Brisbane, Australia.
The growing media used was GroWool. The GroWool was wrapped in shade cloth and 6 removable “cages” were added for stability.
At the base is a stainless steel tank to store approx. 200lt of rainwater.
There is a simple pond pump ( on an electric timer ) placed in the tank to pump the water up to 2 horizontal lines of adjustable heads to gain maximum coverage of the GroWool slabs.

Approxrimately 600 plants, consisting of – Spathiphyllum, Syngonium, Liriope, Diffenbachia, Alocasia, Chlorophytum, Alternanthera, Philodendron species, Neomarica gracilis, Caladium & Fern species were used.

There are 4 metal-hallide spots on tracks on the ceiling & a LED strip at the bottom.
If you would like a similar vertical garden installed, please feel free to contact us for a quotation.
