Urban Bistro
May 12th, 2011 | Posted by in LusheUrban Bistro inĀ Burlingame, California had a living wall installed using a living wall kit available at Urban Zeal Planters.
First plywood was installed on the wall to give support for the future vertical garden.
Next, waterproof sheets were attached to the plywood with duct tape used to seal the seams.
Metal spacers were then screwed into the wall which will allow for good air flow behind the vertical garden.
The individual panels were then lifted and screwed into the metal spacers and those felt pockets in the panels will be the future home of the plants!
Next, 320 ferns are placed into the pockets to create an instant living wall.

Lovely, as always!!!
Man, this is one creative genius! Such a brilliant concept in producing an artistic masterpiece to provide a fresh ambiance for customers for a business like this!
It looks gorgeous! And great for business too I suppose… :p I didn’t see any watering system though. How was the watering achieved?
Can you explain how the irrigation system works?
Drip irrigation with a catchment tray that recirculates the water
Wow… that’s awesome.
How much does something like this cost?
You are looking at about $1,500 to $1,800/m2
