Riddling Rack Green Wall
February 4th, 2010 | Posted by in LusheFrom the LA Times comes a green wall constructed from a riddling rack. Created by Anne Phillips of the landscape design and maintenance firm Go Green Gardeners. A Riddling Rack is a piece of timber with slanted holes in which champagne is stored at an angle so yeast could collect in the neck and be removed. Rather than bottles, seedlings are place in the rack.

The construction process is to start from the bottom and insert the seedlings from the rear . The backside is wrapped with coconut coir fibre similar to the type used to line hanging baskets.
The coconut coir fibre is fastened in place with plastic fencing The fiber is held in place with several widths of green plastic fencing. Irrigation can be via watering can or via drip irrigation.

Great design. I wonder if we have them in wine country north of here either in Sonoma or Napa. I would love to get my hands on that Riddling Rack. Looks like edibles, correct?
My google searches show plenty of manufacturers of riddling racks around the world. Enjoy.
Edible garden indeed.
An improvement to the system would be to have a dripper system as the garden will dry out very quickly

Wonderful designs .. I love your vertical gardens ..
This is excellent advice. Especially for those of us who are into gardening. Blogging is great, I am relatively new to it but I really like doing it. I probably like blogging because I like gardening. Lol.
